Connecting Power

The Adept SmartController EX motion controller and sDIO expansion module require filtered

24 VDC power.

NOTE:Users must provide their own power supply. Make sure the power cables and

power supply conform to the specifications that follow.

24 VDC Power Specifications

Circuit Protection Not more than 8 A (below the amper-

age rating of the cable used)

Power Cabling 1.5 - 1.85 mm

(16-14 AWG), full-

cover, braided shield cable, maximum

length 10 meters

Shield Termination Braided shield connected to the marked

frame ground screw on the right side of

the controller (near the XDC con-

nector). On the other end of the cable,

the shield should be connected to the

power supply chassis.
